FRESHLY WHIPPED @ TEAM CREAM DRIFT DAY

So this dude I know called Picket often runs a track day every so often down in Taupo. It’s one of those rad days where everyone’s just chilled, relaxed and ready to drift. No idiots, just drifting. Sadly with Uni being in peak hours I was only able to shoot this day and not put it all online. But alas, here it is.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nArriving first thing in the morning as usual we saw many trailers rolling up and unloading their cars for the day. Here’s Mel’s JZX100 Chaser being unloaded.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nZac’s rad little AE was already sitting wide eyed in the pit bay.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nPicket was chowing down on his breakfast whilst arguing over fonts in a possibly drunken state.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nThis bright S14 took me by surprise. Not something I’ve ever seen before. The paint job looks damn rad with plenty of flare.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nFour door R32’s have me in love right now. Mixed with a great set of wheels and some Recaro seats – can’t go wrong.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nThis 180 was rocking some hella crazy guards..\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n..and some awesome Kranze’s inside them.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nDominic’s S15 is one heck of a clean example.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nOut for a test was Kyle Jackways in his recently finished RB26m powered 180sx. Damn cool car, which no doubt will be out in force in D1NZ.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nPicket looked pretty happy with the turnout and seemed ready to go. Even though his own car was still not going.. (Come on already..)\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nOG Cream boss Royce lined his car up, ready and waiting to get out onto the track. Skyline’s on 15’s are amazing.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nBen was killing it in his Zombie S13. Not sure how he manages the amount of angle he gets and still retains the drift.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nJames had his Mark 2 out after a little ding from the previous weekend. He sure knows how to make that thing boogie!\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nThe Team Cream homies were out having a jam in their Nissan’s. Loving the matching paint and banners.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nKyle seemed to pick up drifting very quickly after some time off.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nMel put out some flat lock coming around the sweeper.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nLoving Nick’s JZX90; although he wasn’t behind the wheel the boys managed to have a damn good time with it. Love R33 GTR wheels on virtually anything.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nTodd had his Version 2 edition of his drift wagon out getting tested. Love this car and the crew that rolls with it.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nDigging the two tone on this S14. Bright vibrant colours are not often seen in our drift scene.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nMel took that sweeper with speed and held the smoke right through to the end.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nWas once a stance/show car and has now been turned into a dope drifter. Luke’s set out to show the world what he’s made of in this little thing. Putting out a decent amount of power, with the little chassis –  he manages to get it drifting with what looks like ease.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nTeam Cream veteran Royce manages to make do with little power in his R32. RB20E’s never looked so good with this man driving.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nJames showed off his sticker collection as he headed around the first corner. Check out that rear wheel..\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nNice seeing a purple FW sticker out in the wild! Cheers Neal!\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nBen’s a happy chappy when behind the wheel of his Zombie.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nHe’s also a happy chappy in pit lane too. Aww. Kodak Moments right?\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nCorey’s C’s 555 knuckles seemed to be getting good use throughout the track with a nice amount of angle.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nJD put out a damn decent amount of smoke on his go around the sweeper.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nJZX crew rolled through and had the smoke pouring off in tandem. Nice to see two different generations being pushed to their limits on track.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nMatt Lauder showed up a little late, then had a few issues, but after a while the car rolled out – and damn it looks good drifting. The whole front end is one piece – quite a sight to see.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nSpeaking of S Chassis’s in blue.. this S14 was processing some good drifts through the sweeper.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nBen with the Zombie S13 took me out for a spin around the course with Jase Brown in front. Managed to snap this shot just as he entered the first corner. Cheers for the mad angle Ben!\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nJase purchased Tux’s old D1NZ drift car and has been using it for some little drift days around local tracks. He said he’s slowly building it up how he wants it and no doubt will be a beast on the track when he’s done with it.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nThe cars rolled back in to end the day. Royce was running some mad camber in the rear.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nDom’s car looked great from many angles, including this one.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nThere’s a lot of love for the single overhead cams around here. Might not make a huge amount of power, but they know how to use them.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nA lone zombie ranger.\r\n\r\nBig sorry to all of the boys asking me when I’ll be dropping the photos! Hope it was worth the wait. If you want any more shots of your car just flick me an email – I might be able to provide more.\r\n\r\n-Chris
