FRESHLY WHIPPED @ MOTHER’S SOUND OF CHROME

The Mother’s Sounds of Chrome festival is a Hot Rod show based at Hampton Downs raceway and Meremere Dragstrip with added cruising involved. Here we get to see some very rare and neat V8 cars come out of their garages and display them for everyone to see.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nA personal favourite was this GT4o replica sitting on Simmons wheels. Colours match up well.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nMany classics such as this Camaro were there..\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n..And this Shelby Cobra replica,And this err Toychev?\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nSensei Cam was out putting on a drift display in his RB29 R32 Coupe.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nAlthough Cam loves to kill it on the final sweeper, the car doesn’t seem to like it as much with a hose popping out every so often.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nOne of the original DK’s Sean Falconer was out to practice in his classic S13, which is powered by a well worked RB26DET.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nA very rare sight to see was this Dodge Viper. I’m sure many of us had this as a little toy model back when we were kids.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nGood to see some classic low-riders were out in force. I’d much rather see a classic American car sitting on bags than a late model VW, but that’s just like my opinion, man.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nEvery time I see the Big Ben stunt utes in action I always wish that their guns shot pies or sausage rolls out. Nice and handy to eat on the job.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nThis dragster was ‘hella tuckin’ in the rear with thinner tyres put on to allow for an easier burnout presentation.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nSky was putting on a good show in his S15 which is looking dope in the new wide-er body kit.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nSky seemed pretty happy with the day.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nFollowing in the family footsteps, Hans was drifting his time attack S14.5 also. The car has since had a sequential gearbox put into it.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nAnd to finish off, the boss himself. Evil.\r\n\r\nCheck out Mothers Chrome festival here for more info.\r\n\r\n-Chris
