FRESHLY FEATURED – JTUNE STANCED RX8 SERIES 2 R3

A few months back we did a shoot on the fly. After running around shooting Nico Reid for Juiced Magazine, I headed over to our buddies over at JTune and shot this RX8 Series 2. Later that evening we ended up at the NZHonda’s meet. A car fueled day. Bad pun not intended.\r\n\r\nMeeting at JTune the car was then manoeuvred out of the parking lot – not an easy task.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nAs you can see, the car is different from the Series 1 model. Its new facelift gives a modern touch to the car, with the added chrome bars looking great. I think Mazda have done a great job remodelling an already great car.\r\n\r\nThe car looks great just parked next to the road. Being a Series 2 model, it’s front appearance is different to the normal RX8’s seen around town.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nHopping into the car you see the nice dash. The interior has been upgraded to the factory extra Recaro leather. By this point I’m pretty well flattered. Mazda’s done well.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nStance. It’s something we don’t see much of in NZ. This RX8 sums up the term well though. 20″ Work Gnosis GS-5 Wheels, with BC Gold Suspension and SSR rear camber arms, means the car’s sitting well.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nAs you can see, the wide tyres and camber arms have really got the car sitting ‘hellaflush’. You can see the tyres are on such an angle that there’s light coming through the right wheels tread.\r\n\r\nImage20110616-IMG_4772\r\n\r\nI love it when you can’t see any of the spokes of a wheel due to the dish. It’s something that sets off the car.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nThe owner has followed the whole ‘keep it simple, stupid’ saying. Nothing looks overdone, the car sits clean and even the added exhaust flows with the car.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nAs you can see, this is sitting static. This is it’s everyday ride height. Yes we had some fun going over speedbumps. I don’t think I’ve been in a lower car before..\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nSometimes you just need to stand back and admire the car. Over the time of the shoot I gradually noticed more and more little upgrades to the Series 2 model. The whole rear has been redesigned, with new tail lights and a modified bumper.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nBeing the R3 model, this car already came with big add-on wheels stock and Bilstein suspension. Even though these have been changed, I think it was for the best.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nHeading back to the shop, I took a few snaps of the interior. As you can see, the stock Recaro seats look great and match the colour coding of the rest of the car.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nI love the centre console of the car. It just looks cool with all of the red stitched leather.\r\n\r\nImage20110616-IMG_4711\r\n\r\nThanks a lot to the owner for sharing this car with us! Cheers also to Jacky for his handy driving skills and general GC-ness.\r\n\r\nFurther mods to the car are:\r\n

    \r\n
  • HKS panel filter
  • \r\n

  • FGK Exhaust
  • \r\n

  • X force Extractor
  • \r\n

  • HKS Radiator and Oil Cap
  • \r\n

\r\nPhotos up on our Facebook page as usual.\r\n\r\n-Chris
