FRESHLY WHIPEPD @ V8 SUPERTOURERS ROUND 1

So it’s taken me a long time to get this post up but here it is. Back a few weeks ago we covered the V8 Supertourers at Hampton Downs. As we don’t usually cover much circuit racing, this was a prime example to cover for the weekend.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nStraight onto it is the NZ Honda cup series, which sees an all Honda league battle out over the track.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nBack in the pits, Cole was chilling with his promo girls posing for a photo for Mum.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nMike had a very serious face on taking the RX7 out on the skid pan for a few demos.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nOnto the main event. The V8 Supertourers.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nWith the cars making their first major public debut, the turnout was something I’m not sure anyone truly expected with around 20,000 fans alone on Sunday.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nWith the pack of cars all identical running the same base platform, they are a very close group.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nIn-between the races the drifters were sent out to show off their talents.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nWe saw the likes of Cam Vernon out,\r\n\r\nSky Zhao,\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n..and Cole Armstrong to name a few.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nBack out came the Supertourers. This bloke had possibly the best seat in the house.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nFor two out of three races over Saturday and Sunday we saw fan favourite Greg Murphy take out the win.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nHis fans even got their tops off in support.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nIn the final race Ant Pedersen took the win from Murph who only managed to gain 7th..\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n..After being tapped by Andy Booth, causing some traffic from the already close pack.\r\n\r\nLocal media superstar Kenny Ruddell was in prime position for the podium champagne showers, for which he took most of the wine himself.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nCheck out more info about the V8 Supertourers here.\r\n\r\n-Chris
