Well after heading out to the Speedshow early in the morning, I popped out to my friends at Drift Empire’s track day afterwards. These guys seem to have quite the love for Toyota’s drifting and show it with a variety of different Toyota’s appearing at each track day. They of course too accommodate for other brands too.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nArriving to the smell of burnt rubber and petrol is a nice change from fresh air. Keyword being nice.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nNo mucking around here, with the cars jamming from the start. This Soarer was sounding mad and being driven in a similar manner. We don’t really have many Soarer drifters in NZ..\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nOf course there’s always time for a little skid here and there.. LIGHT ‘EM UP\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nThese little private days are the ones I enjoy the most. Just having close people around and a bunch of dudes who love drifting is awesome. Nothing unessential.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nTony’s the owner of this Levin, a dope little car that he’s put his heart and soul into and he also runs Drift Empire.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nKicking up a storm was this little AE. It’s great to see plenty of these being cleaned up and thrashed.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nChuffed.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nThese two seemed to enjoy having little battles along the dragstrip..\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nClean cut as hell.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nTux was out also but not driving his car as it’s been sold. I was quite saddened to hear that! Here’s hoping he still comes back with a new ride!\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nTough arse looking Laurel..\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nGotta get the best seats in the house.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nThese dudes seemed to really pick up on how to use Meremere by the end of the day, this S13 was going nuts around the straight.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nCutting up tyres was this Soarers speciality..\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nAll I can say is a major props to the dudes/dudettes over at Drift Empire.
