PART 1 – Freshly Whipped at Concours d’elegance – February 13th @ Ellerslie Racecourse, Auckland.

The organisers of Concours d’elegance could not have asked for a better day come Sunday. It was a hot, New Zealand summers day at its finest with a large crowd to match. Concours is the top car show for seeing the Classiest automobiles that New Zealand owners have to offer. From a Bentley made in 1940’s to the latest 2011 model Lamborghini, plus everything in between.

Rolls Royce
This 1948 Rolls Royce Silver Wraith is simply beautiful. It has such a presence to it with the large Grille that Rolls Royce is famous for.

Firebird

\r\n

Classic Pontiac Firebird. Just like what they used in Smokey and the Bandit. Also note the trophy to the side, proof that this car is something special.

\r\n

Austin A50
A 1955 Austin A50 Cambridge. Although 115,000 were made in four years it still remains a true classic as many New Zealand families could relate to owning one.

\r\n

Torana
The Holden Torana, made famous in Australasia by none other than the Legend himself, Peter Brock.

\r\n

Lancia Stratos
An amazing machine and Rally icon, the Lancia Stratos HF. Still with its rallying livery.

\r\n

Countach
As far as pin up cars in the 80s, the Lamborghini Countach was the car to beat. Its risky design has earned it titles such as ‘Sexiest Supercar of all Time’ and would still be considered futuristic today.

\r\n

Replica Cobra
One of many Replica Shelby Cobras on display. It was so hard to tell if these were the real deal or not. The only way to tell was by checking the Registration Card.

\r\n

Aston Martin Virage
A British Racing Green Aston Martin. The Great British car industry at its finest.

\r\n

Z28

\r\n

Loud, proud and a master of the burnout, this Z28 Camaro was not well suited to this tight and narrow course but still managed to put on a great show.

\r\n

Z Club

\r\n

Club Z was celebrating 30 years with an example from every generation ever made.

\r\n

General Lee

\r\n

Looks like Luke and Bo Duke made their way over from Hazard County  for the show with their famous 1969 Dodge Charger, the General Lee.
